"Be all you can be at Mustang Creek"

Frank Coble - Fifth Grade

I have been teaching children, many of whom have become life-long friends, for forty-two years.  Each year is a new challenge.  The new individuals' families create an entirely new "family" for the current school year.  Being unique individuals, each brings his/her own personality to the class.  (It is similar to a Mulligan Stew:  All ingredients alter the flavor.)

My college education began at Connors Junior College in Warner, OK, East Central State University in Ada, OK, for my BS and MT, and University of Oklahoma for post-graduate work.  My nineteen years in Mustang began after twenty-three years in the  Oklahoma City School System.  It has been my pleasure working in three of the six Mustang schools.  Without a doubt, this one is far superior!  The quality of faculty, staff, parents, and students is far and above the rest. That is my honest opinion!

One of my favorite activities during the school year is being on the soccer field with a large number of kids who simply want to have fun. Having bus duty every morning gives me a chance to see each child daily. I have made many friends every year because of this.

My home town of Owasso, Oklahoma, is just north of Tulsa.  My major activities were music related.  The Pride of Owasso has grown considerably and is a competitor of the Mustang Nightriders.   My mother was born there in 1921 and lived there most of her life.  My dad built our home there in 1948. With only a fourth grade education, he taught himself more than most people will learn in a lifetime.

Currently, my wife, Shirley, and I live with Molly, a rescued basset, and a few dozen fish in our two water gardens.  Outdoor work is a pleasure for me.  Taking a few minutes to relax and look at our backyard oasis off May Avenue is simply a joy. Shirley is the executive director (23 years) for Volunteers for Animal Welfare, Inc.  Her knowledge of state laws has gained her state-wide praise and compliments from local and state officials in the legislature.  My son, Camden, and his family live nearby.  He and his wife, Michelle, are the proud parents of Paige, age 6, and Tanner, age 4.  During my spare time, I still enjoy reading a good western novel, especially by Louis L'Amour.  My collection numbers at least 75 of his works.  Basically, I am just a small-town guy who landed a teaching job in Oklahoma's Capital.  Jeans and boots are still in my closet and are frequently worn.
