Jillian Mitchell - Assistant Principal
Hello, my name is Jillian Mitchell and I am the assistant principal at
Mustang Creek Elementary. I love being part of the Creek family
and having the privilege of working with an outstanding staff and group
of students!
I have been part of the Mustang Public School District
since 2000 as a teacher and administrator at Mustang Elementary.
My first three years I was a third grade teacher, followed by two years
as a first grade teacher. I completed my time in the classroom as
the fifth grade reading teacher. I was named Mustang Elementary’s
Teacher of the Year in 2004. Before teaching in Mustang, I taught
second grade in the Putnam City School District. My seven years as
a classroom teacher were incredible.
I am a proud graduate of Mustang High School. The
opportunity to work in a district that played such an integral part in
my life is a great honor. After graduating, I completed my
Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education from Oklahoma Baptist
University. I then received my Masters of School Administration
from UCO.
I am married to my high school sweetheart. We have two
beautiful daughters, Madeline and Lydia, and one precious son, Harrison.
We are proud to live and raise our family in such a wonderful community.
As an administrator, it is my goal that all students
experience success in a positive and caring environment. I firmly
believe that a child’s education is molded and shaped through the
partnership between school and home. A favorite quote of mine is
“Excellence is never an accident. It is always the result of high
intentions, sincere effort, and skillful execution.” At Mustang
Creek Elementary, we challenge our students to choose to be excellent.
