Speech Therapy
Mustang Creek Elementary's Speech, Language Pathology Department
Hello All! I wanted to take some time to introduce myself to you. I have been working as a speech-language pathologist for a little over 8 years now. I enjoy every aspect of being a speech-language pathologist and often joke that I would do my job for free because I love it so much. I received my bachelors of science in communication sciences and disorders in 2007 from Oklahoma State University (Go Pokes!) where I graduated summa cum laude and a member of Phi Kappa Phi honor society. I continued my education at Oklahoma State University and graduated summa cum laude with my masters of science in communication sciences and disorders in 2009. I have worked in the school setting for the past 7 years. This is my 4th year to work with Mustang Public Schools. Prior to working in Mustang I worked in Pearland, TX just south of Houston, TX for 4 years. My first year as a speech-language pathologist was spent working in a skilled nursing facility that specialized in Alzheimer's and Dementia treatment.
As you probably noticed I have a deep love for Oklahoma State University. It is not only where I spent 6 years of my life learning and growing into who I am today, but where I made lasting friendships and met my husband of 8 years. We have 3 beautiful children. Twin daughters, Hadley and Hailey, who are 5 years old and a son, Hayden, who will be 2 in January. We also have a sweet/grumpy old dog named Dasher.
I am originally from Minco, Oklahoma and am happy to be back near home after living in Texas for 5 years. I enjoy spending time with my family, playing games, watching movies/TV and doing crafts.
I look forward to getting to know all of you this year! I hope you find this website useful and informative regarding your student's speech and language skills, how you can help them, and how to contact me. Since my students communicate with a variety of people in a variety of settings throughout their day it truly takes many people to help support and promote growth in their speech and language skills. I enjoy speaking and working with those who will be communication partners with the students.
